TMG fleshes out its sales team

Monday, September 5, 2011

TMG The Mortgage Group Canada has announced Dan Pultr - former BDM for a non-bank lender - as its new director of sales for British Columbia.

"His unique experience on both sides of mortgage lending, prime and subprime, along with his respect for and commitment to the broker channel, makes him a valuable addition to the TMG team," reads the Tuesday announcement.

Most recently, as a business development manager for a non-bank lender, his territory included Victoria and Vancouver Island. Pultr's move to the broker side of the industry should build on his relationships with brokers and "the common values he shares with TMG."

"As a BDM, I spent the majority of my time working closely with brokers to help improve their business and to ensure that their clients were satisfied," he said. "I believe my diverse background on the lender side will ultimately help the brokers I work with form stronger relationships with their BDMs and underwriters, and provide their clients with a better overall customer experience."

The announcement follows other key appointments in Central Canada as well as Albert. TMG named Gerald Krahn as its director of Sales and Business Development for Ontario earlier this year, just a month before Gord Appel filled the same position for the Alberta operation. Each brings a wealth of experience in sales development both within and outside the mortgage industry, said Mark Kerzner, president of TMG The Mortgage Group, as well as a fresh and unique perspective.
While Appel's recent mortgage industry experience includes both training and recruitment where he developed strategic partnerships and showed strong leadership as a mentor and facilitator, Krahn is 15-year veteran of the mortgage industry. He was recently regional manager for another brokerage firm in the Golden Horseshoe and South Central Ontario. Like Pultr, he also spent years working as a BDM for lenders.

Mark Kerzner, president of TMG The Mortgage Group, is lauding Pultr's appointment as another key addition to the nationwide team.
"I am thrilled he has decided to join the TMG team," said Kerzner. "He embodies the TMG values of professionalism, integrity, and putting the customer first."

Originations across much of B.C. are expected remain relatively flat for the rest of the year, with brokers increasingly challenged by the banks as well as credit unions.

Pultr is up for that challenge.
"TMG has really developed over the past couple of years," he said, "and I can't wait to help support their growth and vision for years to come."
