TMG The Mortgage Group is looking for an experienced, self-starting, energetic and talented individual to head up their BC Deal Centre. The role of the Deal Centre Manager is to provide TMG's brokers with support, mentorship, guidance, training and an array of value add services to help them exceed their personal business goals.
The successful candidate will have experience in a mortgage underwriting or business development capacity with a proven ability to train, manage, and motivate talented mortgage professionals.
TMG The Mortgage Group is a national full service mortgage brokerage with over 700 mortgage professionals from coast to coast. TMG is one of the largest and longest standing mortgage brokerages in Canada. TMG The Mortgage Group is based out of Vancouver, BC and has been in operation for over 20 years.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop strong relationships with TMG brokers
- Manage, maintain and support all lender, insurer and industry service provider relationships
- Market Deal Centre services to TMG brokers
- Prepare monthly department reports
- Educate new and prospective brokers on the value and services provided by the Deal Centre
- Maintain knowledge of all important lender, insurer and industry service provider information
- Execute broker and lender escalations
- Assist TMG agents with packaging and presentation of mortgage applications to an array of different lenders
- Support TMG agents with any lender related questions or concerns
- Manage online database of lender, insurer and industry service provider information for easy reference by all TMG brokers
- Liaise with accounting and compliance officer to ensure compliance and payroll accuracy
- Train new brokers on underwriting, document review and lender policies to support role of TMG trainer and lender representatives
- Perform various presentations to support TMG's dedication to training and education
- Maintain and educate all brokers on the importance of lender service commitments (ie. Volume and efficiency targets)
- Develop and process mortgage leads
- Develop an annual sales and marketing plan for the department
- Manage and execute corporate outsourcing agreements
- Support, manage and coach the Deal Centre Associate(s)
Knowledge (Education/Experience)
- Completed bachelor degree in a related field and five years of mortgage industry experience (Preferably in underwriting, business development or brokering)
- Completion of BC Sauder Mortgage Brokerage in British Columbia Course
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of Davis and Henderson Expert System
- Fluent in English required (Mandarin, Cantonese, French are an asset)
- Strong team player
- Excellent conflict resolution skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint (HTML is an asset)
- Demonstrated leadership and personnel management skills
- Strong relationship developing skills
- Self-starter
- Excellent customer service level
- Ability to work alone independently and a strong team player
- Proven organization skills and demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Enjoys working in a fast paced environment and able to manage transactional deadlines
- Ability to generate own mortgage leads is an asset
